An Australian music director and her husband have reportedly had a US television interview.
The pair, both in their 20s, were filmed by NBC’s Matt Lauer during a recent interview.
Bethel singer Bethel Jackson and her boyfriend have reportedly been interviewed by the US network.
The interview was reportedly conducted by Lauer in December 2016, with Bethel singing the title track.
The singer later tweeted about the experience.
I got the chance to sit down with @bethel_jackson and @southerncountrymusic director @sjkirby, both incredible artists who are doing incredible work!
Thank you for sharing their story!
— BethelJackson (@BethelJackson) December 14, 2016 Bethel, 29, and her partner, 20-year-old Josh Kirby, were both in the US for a television interview with Lauer and NBC’s Chuck Todd on December 9.
Bethes singer, who has a new album out this week, is seen in a clip of the interview and said that she felt “surprised and a little bit intimidated” by Lacey’s interview.
“I think I didn’t know what was going to happen, because we were both so excited,” Bethel said.
“He [Lacey] didn’t ask any questions that were going to affect me, he asked me questions that weren’t going to make me feel uncomfortable.”
She added: “I think it was a little weird because I didn´t know what he was going [to ask] because he was so relaxed.”
Bethel, who was born in Melbourne, has previously said she was unaware of the US government’s restrictions.
Bethe also took part in a campaign called #SaveLacey in the lead up to the inauguration of President Donald Trump.
The Bethel song “I Wanna Be Your Woman” featured on the album and has been a hit on iTunes since its release in January.
Bethere singer, songwriter and guitarist, Josh Kirby also performed on the TV interview.
He told Lauer that he thought he had the “greatest experience” in the interview.
But it is believed the interview was conducted before the singer, Jackson and Kirby had made their official announcement.
“It was the first time I had ever been in an interview like this,” Kirby said.
He said he had been invited to the interview by the network and that they were “pretty happy” with it.
“That was a big surprise to us, because [we] hadn’t even seen them on the news before,” Kirby added.
Bethem Jackson told reporters at the time: “We’re very happy to be in a position to talk to the president and to have an opportunity to give him a few words of encouragement.”
Bethe, whose previous album, Bethel in the Park, was released in 2015, said she and Kirby would be “back at it again soon”.
“We have another album to make,” she said.
“I have a lot of music in the works and we have more songs coming up.”
